The dray of Kragmorta fight against the forces of New Giustenal, who retreat inside the city. Beyond the gates, death awaits the Party and their warriors. Overwhelming forces slaughter the Kragmortians to the last one, while the PCs take the opportunity to escape and hide in the city.
The dray of New Giustenal gather the dead for unknown purposes, while searching for the PCs. By chance or by design, the party manages to escape capture until the night, when they leave their hiding place to explore the city.
They reach the docks of the underground river bisecting the city, where they find a barge filled with the corpses of dead dray. They steal the barge, and sail down the river, following the currents. They fight a fearsome acquatic creature, and eventually end up in a vast cave, filled to the brim with hundreds of undead!
At the center of the room, a sphere of black obsidian emanates powerful necromantic magic. Gardain decides to touch the sphere, which triggers the undead to attack. Knowing they cannot destroy so many of the monsters, the PCs focus their attacks on the sphere. When they destroy it, the undead fall motionless to the ground.
Tired from the fight, the party decides to rest not far from the cave. But that's a mistake. During the night, the sorcerer-king Dregoth, alerted by the loss of his undead army, comes to them in the form of a regal dray. He rapidly subdues and capture the PCs with his psionic powers.
The PCs find themselves naked and in chains in Dregoth's laboratory. Terric's fate is even worse. Through a mystical ritual, Dregoth and his templars change the form of the assassin, turning him into a dray.
