Session 39

The Free

PCs (lvl 12): Dornal, Phatim, Torak

The PCs continue their trek across the rocky badlands, when they come into contact with a small encampment of friendly ex-slaves. At night, the party shares the fire with the travellers, who offer them food and wine. But the wine is poisoned, and the PCs soon fall into a deep slumber.

When they awake, they find themselves prisoners of Werrick's Stalkers, a tribe of former slaves turned slavers. Thanks to Phatim psionic powers, the PCs free themselves from their bonds and open their wagon-cells. They then proceed to slaughter the Stalkers almost to the last man.

They investigate the camp, retrieving the comatose form of Korgunard and their gear. Before they can leave, several figures approach the camp. They are the Free, another desert tribe, old friends of Dornal, and of the Veiled Alliance. They join the party, and offer their assistance.

The night after, Phatim tries to contact Korgunard's mind, and partly succeeds. While the PCs sleep, they all receive a vision from the powerful mage and telepath, where they glimpse more details about their final destination.
